Biagraphy

Fernanda de Araujo is a singer and actress, born in Brazil.

 

After studying music and acting at the University of UEMG and the Palacio das Artes Theater (Belo Horizonte, BR), Fernanda decided to discover the world. Studying music led her to experience different countries and cultures. She successfully completed a master's degree in voice at the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello in Venice (IT) and received a scholarship for the European Erasmus traineeship program at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich (DE). In 2021 she completed her master's degree in opera at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar and has since been part of the ensemble of the Theater und Orchester Neubrandenburg Neustrelitz.

 

Fernanda's operatic roles include Mimi (La Bohème), Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte), the First Lady (The Magic Flute) and Maria (West Side Story).

 

She frequently works with contemporary composers. She made her debut as a protagonist in several world premieres by composers such as Luca Mosca, Giovanni Mancuso and Giordano Bruno do Nascimento.

Fernanda has sang at Theaters including Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar(DE), Vollkshaus Jenaer Phillharmonie (DE), Teatro Comunale di Treviso (IT), Teatro Malibran di Venezia (IT), Teatro Palacio das Artes (BR).

Fernanda de Araujo uses physical acting techniques from those such as Grotowski and Meyerhold. The interest in physical acting techniques led her to work as an assistant director.
